Los Angeles County Fair, September 5 - 28

It's time again for the Los Angeles County Fair!  It is an opportunity to step away from your day to day activities and just have a little down-home fun.  This year, the fair begins September 5 and runs through September 28.  They are open Wednesday through Sunday.

FAIR HOURS

Wednesday

11 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Thursday

11 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Friday

11 a.m. - midnight

Saturday

10 a.m. - midnight

Sunday

10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Each of the local cities has an assigned day for their special activities as well as discounted admission prices.  Here is a list of the activities for some of the local cities:

Glendora Day at the L.A. County Fair
Wednesday, September 17 - With a Glendora horse race, Community parade, a Community Hero presentation and evening entertainment featuring The Glendora High School Royal Stewarts & Silhouettes and Citrus College Nightshift , we’re sure you’ll find the fun that’s right for you. And save up to $24 on Fair admission with a 2 for 1 discount card available at the Glendora Chamber of Commerce and Glendora city offices.

Claremont Day at the LA County Fair

Thursday, September 18 - With a Claremont horse race, Community parade, a Community Hero presentation and evening entertainment featuring The Dogs, we're sure you'll find the fun that's right for you. And save up to $24 on Fair admission with a 2 for 1 discount card available at the Claremont Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, and the Hughes Community Center.

 

La Verne Day at the L.A. County Fair
Wednesday, September 24 - With a Community parade, a Community Hero presentation and evening entertainment featuring The Answer, we're sure you'll find the fun that's right for you.  And save up to $24 on Fair admission with a 2 for 1 discount card available at the La Verne Chamber of Commerce and La Verne city offices. 

Covina Day at the LA County Fair
Friday, September 26 - With a Community parade, a Community Hero presentation and evening entertainment featuring The Skinny Little Twits, we’re sure you’ll find the fun that’s right for you.  And save up to $24 on Fair admission with a 2 for 1 discount card available at the Covina Chamber of Commerce and Covina City Hall.

One of the great services that cities provide is their Recreation activities.  Each of the local cities puts out a brochure outlining all of the great activities that they offer.  The fall listings have recently been published and I am providing links for you below:

Family Fun and Fitness

Looking for something fun and healthy to do as a family?  If you answered yes to this question then I have a great activity for you...

The City of San Dimas 24th Annual San Dimas Run to benefit youth programs and co-sponsored by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and San Dimas Community Hospital, will be held on Saturday, September 27. The event includes a Men's and Women's 5K and a one mile Family Fun Run or Walk. Pre-registration fee for the 5K is $15, and for the Fun Run is $8. Registration after Wednesday, September 24, is $18 for the 5K and $10 for the Fun Run. Fee includes a quality race T-shirt. Late registration and check-in on the day of the race begins at 6:30 a.m. Time for the 5K is 7:30 a.m., and for the Fun Run 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is currently being taken at the Parks & Recreation Department.
