Daylight Savings Time Ending - November 2, 2008
October 28th, 2008 7:42 AM

It's almost time to "Fall Back".  This Sunday, we will turn back our clocks.  We gain another hour of sleep.  It gets darker earlier.  We will now be back in the same time setting as Arizona.  (Did you know that some states don't observe Daylight Savings Time?  - Hawaii and most of Arizona do not).

Some people don't like going back to Standard Time.  It gets dark before most of us get out of work.  It tends to make us lazier in the evenings because it seems later than it really is.  Less sunlight may mean less activities in the evenings.  It signals our entry into the Winter season.

Personally, I enjoy the longer days of Daylight Savings Time.  I wish that we wouldn't go back to standard time.  But there is a reason for everything, and this is just one more of those occasions.

I found a website that gives a great explanation of Daylight Savings Time - what it is, why we have it, when it occurs, etc.  Click on this link and see what it's all about http://www.webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/b.html.  There's a interesting history behind it.  Check it out!

Don't forget to "Fall Back" this Sunday, November 2, 2008!

Halloween can be great fun for children and adults.  Many families enjoy the tradition of trick-or-treating from house to house in their neighborhoods.  If you deicde to trick or treat door-to-door, here re a few safety reminders:

*  Make sure children are always accompanied by an adult
*  Only visit homes that are well lit
*  Stay on the sidewalk and only cross streets at corners
